The Website app is your central hub for managing and launching your business website on Solodoer. It provides a comprehensive checklist to verify that all mandatory apps are properly configured and guides you through the website activation process.

Important: Setting up your Website is the final mandatory step to complete your Solodoer business website. This app should be configured after setting up your Domain, Content Sections, and Services.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to:

  • Understand what the Website app is and why it's important
  • Access the Website app from your dashboard
  • Use the guided checklist to verify all mandatory apps
  • Activate your website for the first time
  • Set or update your website launch date and time
  • Monitor your website status and activity
  • Preview your live website
  • Troubleshoot common website issues

Understanding the Website App

What is the Website App?

The Website App is the central control panel for your Solodoer business website. It brings together all the components you've configured (Domain, Content Sections, Services, and more) into a functional, live website.

Why is the Website App Important?

  • Central Control - One place to manage your entire website
  • Guided Setup - Checklist ensures nothing is missed
  • Launch Management - Control when your website goes live
  • Status Monitoring - Track your website's current state
  • Quality Assurance - Verify all components before launch

Website Statuses Explained

Your website can have different statuses depending on your setup and plan validity:

ACTIVE:

  • Website is activated and fully functional
  • All content is visible to visitors
  • Your business website is online and accessible
  • Status remains active as long as your plan is valid

EXPIRED:

  • Your business plan validity has ended
  • Website is no longer accessible to visitors
  • Extend your plan in Manage Billing to reactivate
  • All your data is preserved and website will resume once plan is extended

Before You Begin

To complete this tutorial, you must have:

  1. Completed the Domain Setup Tutorial - Your domain and email must be configured and verified
  2. Completed the Content Sections Setup Tutorial - All four content sections must be created
  3. Completed the Services Setup Tutorial - At least one service must be added
  4. Access to your business dashboard at www.solodoer.com/dashboard

Important: The Website app will not allow you to activate your website until all three mandatory apps (Domain, Content Sections, and Services) are properly configured.

Accessing the Website App

To access the Website app:

  1. Log in to your Solodoer Dashboard
  2. Find your business card on the dashboard
  3. Click the "Manage Apps" button on your business card
  4. You'll be redirected to Manage Apps page
  5. Click on the "Website" card to open the Website app
  6. You'll be redirected to Website page

Understanding the Website Checklist

When you first access the Website app, you'll see the Website Checklist Card if your website hasn't been activated yet.

What is the Checklist?

The Website Checklist is a guided verification system that ensures all mandatory components are properly configured before you activate your website. It checks three critical apps:

  1. Domain - Your custom domain and email setup
  2. Content Sections - Your website's core content
  3. Services - Your business offerings

How the Checklist Works

Each checklist item shows:

  • App Icon - Visual identifier for the app
  • App Name - The name of the app being checked
  • Status - Current configuration state

Status Indicators:

All Okay (Green checkmark):

  • The app is properly configured
  • All required fields are filled
  • DNS records are verified (for Domain app)
  • Content is ready for display

Not Okay (Red warning):

  • The app needs attention
  • Configuration is incomplete or missing
  • Click "Go to [App Name] App" to fix issues

Step 1: Reviewing the Checklist

Before activating your website, let's review the checklist to ensure everything is ready.

Access the Checklist

  1. Go to the Website page
  2. Look for the "Website Checklist" card
  3. Review each of the three checklist items

Domain Checklist Item

What it checks:

  • Domain address is configured
  • Email address is configured and verified
  • DNS records are properly set up and verified

If "Not Okay" is shown:

  1. Click the "Go to Domain App" button
  2. Follow the Domain Setup Tutorial
  3. Ensure email is verified (click "Verify Now" if needed)
  4. Add all DNS records to your domain provider
  5. Click "Verify DNS" to confirm records are correct
  6. Return to Website app to check status

Common Domain Issues:

  • Email not verified - Check inbox for OTP code
  • DNS records not added - Log in to your domain provider
  • DNS not propagated - Wait 10-30 minutes and verify again

Content Sections Checklist Item

What it checks:

  • Hero Section is configured with at least 1 content slide
  • Who We Are section is filled out
  • Why Choose Us section is filled out
  • How We Work section has 3-10 process steps

If "Not Okay" is shown:

  1. Click the "Go to Content Sections App" button
  2. Follow the Content Sections Setup Tutorial
  3. Click "Manage Section" to create or update content
  4. Fill out all four required sections
  5. Click "Save & Submit" when complete
  6. Return to Website app to check status

Common Content Sections Issues:

  • Sections not created - Click "Manage Section" and fill out all sections
  • Missing required fields - Ensure all fields meet character requirements
  • No images uploaded - Add images to each section

Services Checklist Item

What it checks:

  • At least one service has been created
  • Service includes all required information
  • Service has associated FAQs (1-10 required)
  • Service has media images (primary + 1-10 gallery images)

If "Not Okay" is shown:

  1. Click the "Go to Services App" button
  2. Follow the Services Setup Tutorial
  3. Click "Add Service" to create your first service
  4. Fill out all required fields
  5. Add at least 1 FAQ to the service
  6. Upload primary media and gallery images
  7. Click "Save & Submit" when complete
  8. Return to Website app to check status

Common Services Issues:

  • No services created - Create at least one service
  • Missing FAQs - Create FAQs first in FAQ app, then link them
  • Missing media - Upload at least 1 primary image and 1 gallery image

Step 2: Activating Your Website

Once all three checklist items show "All Okay" (green checkmark), you're ready to activate your website!

Activate Website Button

  1. Go to the Website page
  2. Verify all checklist items show "All Okay"
  3. Click the "Activate Website" button at the top of the page

What Happens When You Activate

When you click "Activate Website":

  1. Website is Created - Solodoer generates your business website
  2. Default Launch Date - Website goes live immediately with current date/time
  3. Status Changes - Website status becomes "ACTIVE"
  4. Website Info Card Appears - Replaces the checklist with website details
  5. Preview Card Appears - Shows iframe preview of your live site

Congratulations! Your website is now live and accessible to visitors at your custom domain!

Step 3: Understanding Website Info Card

After activation, the Website Checklist Card is replaced by the Website Info Card showing your website details.

Website Info Card Fields

Website URL:

  • Your full website address (e.g., www.yourcompany.com)
  • Click the link to open your website in a new tab
  • This is the URL customers use to visit your site

Website Status:

  • ACTIVE - Website is live and fully functional
  • EXPIRED - Plan validity has ended, extend plan to reactivate website

Active Till:

  • The date and time until which your website remains active
  • Based on your business plan validity
  • Extend your plan in Manage Billing before it expires

Launch At:

  • The date and time when your website was activated or when you plan to officially launch
  • Records when you activated your website or your planned launch date
  • Can be updated at any time for planning and tracking purposes
  • Does not affect website accessibility (website remains active based on plan validity)

Example:

If your plan is valid until December 31, 2025 and today is December 15, 2025:

  • Website Status: ACTIVE
  • Active Till: December 31, 2025
  • Visitors see: Full website with all content

If your plan expired on December 31, 2025 and today is January 5, 2026:

  • Website Status: EXPIRED
  • Active Till: December 31, 2025 (past date)
  • Visitors: Cannot access website
  • Action needed: Extend plan in Manage Billing to reactivate

Step 4: Setting or Updating Launch Date

You can control when your website goes live by setting a launch date and time.

Why Set a Launch Date?

The launch date records when your website was activated or when you plan to officially announce it to customers. This helps you:

  • Build anticipation before your official launch
  • Give yourself time to prepare marketing materials
  • Announce your launch date to customers
  • Create excitement with a countdown timer
  • Make final preparations before going live

Update Launch Date & Time

  1. Go to the Website page
  2. Click the "Update Launch Date" button at the top
  3. The "Update Launch Date & Time" dialog will open

Fill Out Launch Details

Launch Date:

  1. Click the date picker field
  2. A calendar will appear
  3. Select your desired launch date
  4. You can only select dates from today onwards (no past dates)

Launch Time:

  1. After selecting a date, the time dropdown becomes available
  2. Click the time dropdown
  3. Select your desired launch time from the list
  4. Times are shown in 30-minute intervals (e.g., 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:00 AM)
  5. Times are displayed in your local timezone

Example:

If you want to launch on November 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM:

  1. Select "November 15, 2025" from the date picker
  2. Select "10:00 AM" from the time dropdown
  3. Click "Save & Update"

Save Launch Date

  1. After selecting both date and time, click "Save & Update" button
  2. Your launch date will be updated
  3. The dialog will close
  4. Website Info Card will show the new launch date

Understanding Launch Date

The launch date is primarily for your own record-keeping and planning purposes:

When Website is Activated:

  • Website Status becomes ACTIVE
  • Launch date is set to current date/time by default
  • Visitors immediately see your full website with:
    • All content sections
    • All services
    • FAQs
    • Contact form
    • Everything you configured

Updating Launch Date:

  • You can update the launch date to any future date/time for planning purposes
  • This helps you track when you plan to officially announce or promote your website
  • The website remains ACTIVE and fully accessible regardless of launch date
  • Update it as many times as needed for your planning

Important: Unlike plan validity (Active Till), the launch date does not control website accessibility. Your website remains active as long as your plan is valid.

Step 5: Previewing Your Website

After activation, you can preview your live website directly from the Website app.

Preview Website Card

The Preview Website Card shows an embedded iframe displaying your actual website.

Features:

  • Live Preview - Shows your website exactly as visitors see it
  • Responsive View - Preview adjusts to the card size
  • Interactive - You can click links and navigate (within the iframe)
  • Real-Time - Updates immediately when you make changes to your site

View Full Website

To see your website in full size:

  1. Click the Website URL link in the Website Info Card
  2. Your website opens in a new browser tab
  3. Test all functionality:
    • Navigation links
    • Contact forms
    • Service pages
    • Content sections
    • FAQ sections
    • Mobile responsiveness

Testing Checklist:

  • All content displays correctly
  • Images load properly
  • Links work as expected
  • Contact form can be submitted
  • Social media icons link correctly
  • Mobile view looks good (resize browser window)

    • This is intentional - you can only select today or future dates
    • Select today's date if you want to update to current time

    • Ensure both date AND time are selected
    • Check for error messages under the fields
    • Try closing and reopening the dialog
